David Toh serves as Managing Partner of Mirana Ventures, where he has been instrumental in guiding fund deployment, operational strategies, and team development since its inception. With extensive investment experience spanning sectors like Technology, Media & Telecommunications, Artificial Intelligence, and Blockchain, David brings a disciplined approach and insightful perspective to identifying promising founders and emerging fund managers.
To David, venture capital transcends financial backing; it entails offering timely advice, support, and a synergistic network of partners. His commitment to forging meaningful connections with founders has been central to Mirana Ventures' strategy. Additionally, David actively participates on the boards of selected portfolio companies, where he plays a pivotal role in navigating the complexities associated with scaling their ventures.
Mavis assumed the role of Partner at Mirana Ventures in January 2024, overseeing the fund's direct venture investments. Her tenure at Mirana has been marked by spearheading successful investments in companies such as Ethena, Ingonyama, and Turnkey. Her entry into the realm of blockchain investments began at Liberty City Ventures in New York, where she managed a US $1.7 billion portfolio focused on innovative financial infrastructures alongside AI and data-driven enterprises.
Originally from China, Mavis undertook her studies in International Politics and Development at New York University. This foundation spurred a commitment to fostering positive societal shifts through the public and non-profit sectors, a commitment she now extends to the blockchain and cryptocurrency spaces.
With her deep understanding of both Asia Pacific and Western markets, Mavis effectively creates strategic partnerships for Mirana’s portfolio, drawing on her wide network and resources.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Mavis is also a contemporary art patron.
Arun joined Mirana Ventures as Head of Research in June 2022. Prior to this, he attained a bachelor's degree in Physics and Biology from MIT and completed his PhD in Systems Biology at Stanford. During his studies, he created algorithms that significantly improved the efficiency of high-throughput protein sequencing analyses. Intrigued by the potential of blockchain to enhance transparency in academic research, Arun dived into the field during his PhD tenure.
After his graduation, he made the leap full-time into web3, where he honed his skills in building quantitative trading algorithms and contributed to web3 security work, before eventually finding his place at Mirana.
Arun’s passion lies in capitalizing on his accumulated technical expertise and investing acumen to identify key market needs early on. His current interests include zero-knowledge cryptography, AI, modular infrastructure, and applications of Eigenlayer.
Isaac joined Mirana Ventures as Principal in 2023, with a dual mandate to oversee the $100M Mantle Ecosystem Fund and to support direct venture investments. His journey began as an analyst at SGInnovate, where he made strategic investments that advanced Singapore's then-nascent fintech, AI, and cybersecurity ecosystems. Following this, he joined Mulesoft, where he played a key role in driving go-to-market strategies and business expansion operations in Southeast Asia, culminating in their acquisition by Salesforce for $6.5 billion.
Isaac's full immersion into Web3 coincided with the peak of the last bull market, a period marked by Luna's implosion the day after he joined Fireblocks. This experience reinforced his embrace of the old adage, "time in the (bear) market trumps timing the (bull) market". Drawing from his operating experience across both Web2 and Web3, Isaac aims to leverage his expertise in building ecosystems and in business development to support Mirana and Mantle's portfolio companies.
Hitesh Joshi joined Mirana in April 2024, bringing 14 years of extensive engineering and product leadership experience. Before Mirana, Hitesh led research at Superscrypt, deploying $2.2M across deals, authoring technical opinion pieces, and facilitating portfolio growth by connecting founders with key partners.
Hitesh began his web3 journey as a Solution Architect at Consensys, where he conceptualized and delivered Singapore's first regulated tokenized security platform and led diverse product and engineering teams across multiple regions. At SettleMint, he secured major clients like Standard Chartered, led the development of a self-sovereign identity wallet, and managed APAC pre-sales and engineering teams.
Hitesh brings a unique blend of technical, product, and commercial expertise to Mirana, balancing technical maximalism with financial pragmatism. Earlier in his career, Hitesh led large engineering teams at Deloitte Consulting, UnitedHealth Group, and General Electric, pioneering early blockchain, microservices, and cloud adoption.
Hitesh holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, running, cycling, investing in stock markets and spending time with his family.
Zoey Zhou joined Mirana Ventures as an Investment Associate, where she spearheads the AIXWeb3 and DePIN sector investment thesis, contributing to numerous high-impact deals, including Avail, Shogun, Morpho and others.
Zoey holds a Master’s degree in Finance from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Her early career started wtih HSBC Leveraged Finance (LevFin) team and then JPMorgan in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications Investment Banking Division (TMT IBD). During her tenure in investment banking, Zoey played a pivotal role in major IPOs and mergers and acquisitions, advising leading technology unicorns. Her work spanned across various sectors such as Artificial Intelligence, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Internet, Gaming, and Blockchain, enriching her with profound insights into these industries as well as the global capital markets. Zoey’s transition from traditional finance to the innovative realm of crypto began with Mantle as a Strategy Manager, where she played a critical role in product development and strategic initiatives, including mETH and FBTC.
Outside of her professional life, Zoey is an enthusiastic traveler and photographer. Her adventures have taken her to the pristine Antarctic regions via Argentina, the lush depths of the Amazon jungles, the enigmatic underwater caves of Mexico, and the dramatic volcanic landscapes of Indonesia. Zoey is deeply passionate about exploring the world and connecting with people around the globe.
In 2022, Mason ( Zixi) became an integral part of Mirana Ventures, enriching the investment team with a primary focus on FoF investments and direct Asian venture investments. Drawing from his extensive background in evaluating numerous crypto GPs and their strategies, he possesses a deep understanding of various asset classes across market cycles.
Before joining Mirana, Mason played a pivotal role in a multi-billion-dollar single-family office rooted in the Internet sector since its inception. Within this capacity, he oversaw both FoF and direct investments in the TMT sector, gaining invaluable insights into the dynamics of family offices for Asian tech founders.
His professional journey commenced at ByteDance, where he witnessed the remarkable growth of the emerging tech giant to a valuation of $100 billion. This firsthand experience solidified his belief in the transformative power of innovation and disruptive growth, a conviction he now channels into the blockchain and Web3 space.
Yaxi is a trailblazing entrepreneur and business strategist. With a strategic mind, Yaxi crafts and executes initiatives that drive business triumphs in an ever-evolving financial landscape. One of her major portfolios, Mantle Network, is a leading L2 on Ethereum with over 1 billion dollars in treasury under DAO governance.
As an advisor for Mirana Ventures, Yaxi provides strategic guidance, reviews investment opportunities, offers mentorship to portfolio companies, and forges valuable connections and collaborative synergies between key partners of the firm.
